Baseball Recap: Northwestern Takes a Loss

If Northwestern was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of North East on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cochranton Cardinals on Thursday.

Dom Norris was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Schaukowitsch, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Cochranton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.

Coming up, Northwestern will take on Iroquois at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Cochranton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
