Football Recap: Marquette Comes Up Short + How To Watch

The matchup between Marquette and Seneca on Friday hardly resembled the 21-6 effort from their previous meeting. The Crusaders lost to the Fighting Irish at home by a 43-26 margin. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Fighting Irish recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Marquette still got an impressive performance from Anthony Couch, who threw for 190 yards and four TDs. The Crusaders' leading receiver Connor Baker was Couch's top target yet again, picking up 74 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Marquette's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Seneca, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Looking ahead, Marquette will venture away from home to square off against Elmwood/Brimfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.83 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Seneca, they will be playing at home against St. Bede at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
