Softball Recap: University Cougars vs. East River Falcons
Sadly, University is still looking for their first win of the season after 11 matchups. They fell victim to a rough 17-1 defeat at the hands of the East River Falcons on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to University of the 11-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.
For East River's part, Tru Mastro was a standout: she scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Katherine Sanchez, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
University's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for East River, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
University will head out on the road to square off against Lake Nona at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East River, they will be playing at home against Cypress Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
