Baseball Game Preview: Gunn Titans vs. Mountain View Spartans

The Gunn Titans will head out on the road to take on the Mountain View Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gunn has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 11.

Pioneer hit Gunn with a five-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.

Gunn saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Albert Pellizzari, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-1 to Los Altos.

Mountain View also got a good showing from Jaeden Pietrofeso, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Pietrofeso has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Gunn's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
