Volleyball Recap: Dripping Springs Comes Up Short

Dripping Springs's tournament run continued when they took on Allen on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-21 in the first set.

Dripping Springs started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-22, 25-21.

When it comes to explaining why Dripping Springs lost, don't look at Sydney Lund. Despite the final result, she had 28 assists and three aces. Allie Jenkins was another key player, getting 13 assists and three digs.

Allen had a senior duo take command as Campbell Sheffield had 12 digs and two aces and Emily Capangpangan had 16 assists and four digs.

Dripping Springs' loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Allen, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

Dripping Springs has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Bridgeland on the 28th. As for Allen, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Lago Vista on the 28th.
