West is 0-7 against Freedom since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The West Wolfpack will take on the Freedom Falcons at 4:00 p.m. West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
West fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Weston Ranch on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-3. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tyler Armstrong put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024.
Armstrong wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Mendez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Michael Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Freedom didn't have quite enough to beat Alameda on Friday and fell 4-3.
Isaiah Keys was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Freedom now has a losing record of 2-3. As for West, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.
West's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. West has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Freedom, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will West continue to outrun the ball?
