Baseball Recap: Bakersfield Comes Up Short

Bakersfield had lost six straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-19-1 to make it seven. They came up short against the Bakersfield Christian Eagles, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-2 defeat on Wednesday.

As for Bakersfield Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Bakersfield Christian's part, Deakin Brinkley was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Brinkley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Burgess, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
