Baseball Recap: North Branch Takes a Loss

North Branch extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-10 in the process. They lost 7-0 to the Cloquet Lumberjacks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Vikings have suffered against the Lumberjacks since May 12, 2018.

As for Cloquet, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6. The contest marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

For Cloquet's part, Niko Gentilini was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That run was Gentilini's first of the season. Luca Gentilini was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, North Branch will take on Chisago Lakes Area at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cloquet, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Cherry at 4:30 p.m.
