Basketball Game Preview: Marmion Cadets vs. St. Charles East Fighting Saints

The Marmion Cadets will venture away from home to face off against the St. Charles East Fighting Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Marmion is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Lincoln-Way Central on Saturday. Marmion walked away with a 64-56 victory over Lincoln-Way Central.

Meanwhile, St. Charles East had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down St. Rita 52-36 on Saturday.

Marmion is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for St. Charles East, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Things could have been worse for Marmion, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-57 loss to St. Charles East in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Marmion avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
