Softball Recap: Norton Comes Up Short

Norton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Holy Name on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 3-1. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Tatum Harris spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Norton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mairin Mattei, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Norton's loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Holy Name, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Looking ahead, Norton will challenge Barberton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Holy Name, they will host Padua Franciscan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
