Preview: Westland Hialeah Wildcats vs. North Miami Beach Chargers
Westland Hialeah is 0-4 against North Miami Beach since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Westland Hialeah Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the North Miami Beach Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Westland Hialeah will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Westland Hialeah stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past JC Bermudez Doral 71-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Westland Hialeah has posted since December 5, 2023.
Meanwhile, North Miami Beach pushed their score all the way to 68 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 88-68 defeat at the hands of Divine Savior Academy. While losing is never fun, North Miami Beach can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while Divine Savior Academy is ranked 188th).
The losing side was boosted by Jaycob Joseph, who scored 33 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. His trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Dixson Brumaire, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Westland Hialeah's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for North Miami Beach, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
Westland Hialeah took a serious blow against North Miami Beach when the teams last played back in December of 2017, falling 71-40. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Westland Hialeah was down 40-15.
