Football Recap: Sylva Bay Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sylva Bay Academy can now relate to. They fell 40-34 to the River Oaks Mustangs on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-28 back in September.

Despite the loss, Sylva Bay Academy still got an impressive performance from Micah Odom, who rushed for 188 yards and four TDs, and also threw for 44 yards and one touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. Odom is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

A big part of River Oaks' win came down to the chemistry between Andrew Robinson and his top target Kaden Ramer. Robinson threw for 145 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes while Ramer gained 149 total yards. Byron Price helped Robinson out on the ground, rushing for 64 yards and one score on only six carries.

Sylva Bay Academy now has a losing record of 5-6. As for River Oaks, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

Sylva Bay Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for River Oaks, they will take on Newton County Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Generals will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
