Basketball Recap: West Bend East Takes a Loss

West Bend East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Port Washington Pirates and fell 85-29. While losing is never fun, the Suns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Pirates are ranked 137th).

Paige Grube was West Bend East's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Savana Tillman held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Jonyla Bechtel took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

West Bend East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Port Washington, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Bend East will face off against Watertown at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Washington has already played their next matchup (against Plymouth), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
