Soccer Game Preview: Madison Memorial vs. Edgewood

The Madison Memorial Spartans will head out to face off against the Edgewood Crusaders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Madison Memorial fell victim to Oregon and their airtight defense on Saturday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Edgewood came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Edgewood's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 11-1-2. As for Madison Memorial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10-3 record this season.

Madison Memorial beat Edgewood by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2017, winning 1-0. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
