Baseball Recap: Leo Lions vs. Angola Hornets
Leo and Angola squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Leo had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 6-4. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 9-2.
Jayden Kieler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April.
At the plate, Leo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Schreck, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Dominic Rennecker was another, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
