Softball Game Preview: Hall Titans vs. Lewis Mills Spartans

The Hall Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Lewis Mills Spartans at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Hall is looking for their season's first win.

Hall came up short against Avon on Tuesday, falling 21-7.

Meanwhile, Lewis Mills got the win against Northwest Catholic on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-1. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Megyn Larose made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Larose was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lewis Mills let Eliza Criss and Michaela Larose run wild. Criss got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Larose went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. London Meadows also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lewis Mills and bumps their season record up to 11-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Hall couldn't quite get it done against Lewis Mills in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 12-8. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
