Basketball Recap: Winthrop Takes a Loss

Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 63-45 bruising from the Swampscott Big Blue. The Vikings were probably out for revenge after losing 75-48 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Winthrop's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Swampscott, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winthrop and Danvers will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Swampscott, they will be home for the holidays to greet Peabody Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
