DeLaSalle fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Orono on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-5. The Islanders' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Eva Heinecke spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on 15 hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Carlie Jackson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Kaisaki, who went 3-for-6 with one run and one RBI.

DeLaSalle's loss dropped their record down to 12-7-1. As for Orono, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

As of now, neither DeLaSalle nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
