Softball Recap: Seaman Starts off Right with Win over Turner

Seaman had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Turner Golden Bears with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Kaelyn O'Rourke made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Warren, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Anna McLaughlin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Seaman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Turner only posted a batting average of .100.

Turner is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Seaman beat the Golden Bears by a score of 8-4 later that day.
