Soccer Recap: Thornwood Comes Up Short

Thornwood's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oak Forest Bengals. That's two games in a row now that Thornwood have lost by exactly two goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Thornwood and nudges their season record down to 1-2-1. As for Oak Forest, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thornwood will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they takes on Joliet West at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Thornwood will be up against Joliet West's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.67 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Oak Forest, they will face off against Agricultural Science at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Forest will need to watch out since Agricultural Science have now posted at least four goals every time they've taken the pitch this season.
