 Bellevue East is 5-0 against Benson since April of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Bellevue East Chieftains will face off against the Benson Bunnies at 12:00  p.m. Bellevue East is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.2  runs per game this season.
 On Wednesday, it was a hard-fought  game, but Bellevue East had to settle for  a  6-5 defeat against Omaha Central. Bellevue East has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Bellevue East got a good showing from  Kaden Bach, who   struck out nine batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned run off   one  hit (and not a single walk).  Cole Holbrook relieved him and did a solid job,   not allowing a single  hit, only one  earned run over four innings pitched.
 At the plate,  AJ Lucas was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.  Liam Kerr was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with a  stolen base.
 Even though they lost, Bellevue East  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 12  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile, sadly, Benson is still looking for their first win of the season after six  matchups. They fell victim to a  tough 22-0 loss at the hands of Bryan  on Wednesday.
 Bellevue East's record now sits at 3-5. As for Benson, their record is now 0-6.
 Bellevue East took their  win against Benson  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2023 by a conclusive  18-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bellevue East since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
