Basketball Recap: West Shore Takes a Loss

West Shore lost against Palm Bay back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Shore Wildcats took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palm Bay Pirates. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, West Shore still got an impressive performance from Christian Rebec, who went 5 for 12 en route to 16 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Rebec has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Beau Couture, who posted 12 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palm Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Buffong, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 25 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Buffong a new career-high in points. Deuel ?Junior? Fider was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

West Shore's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Palm Bay, their record now sits at 7-11.

West Shore has already played their next contest, a 62-40 loss against Sebastian River on the 21st. As for Palm Bay, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-39 victory against Florida Prep on the 24th.
