Basketball Recap: Sydney Hage's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tri-State Christian over Morning Star Academy

Tri-State Christian lost against Morning Star Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tri-State Christian Huskies took a hard 36-17 fall against the Morning Star Academy Mustangs. While the Huskies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 8-4 in the first quarter.

Tri-State Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sydney Hage, who posted four points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Kalish, who had two points and four steals.

Morning Star Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily McClure out in front who put up seven points and three steals. What's more, McClure also racked up two rebounds, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Violet Jewell was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Tri-State Christian and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Morning Star Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Tri-State Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-16 defeat against Quad Cities Christian on the 17th. Morning Star Academy has also already played their next game (against East Moline Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
