Softball Recap: Millbrook Takes a Loss

Millbrook fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Heritage on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Heritage Huskies by a score of 11-10. The Wildcats lost against the Huskies in their previous head to head back in April of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 24-0 score last time.

Nicole Drew stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Brynn Herman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Even though they lost, Millbrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

This is the second loss in a row for Millbrook and nudges their season record down to 4-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Heritage, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millbrook will square off against Cary at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Heritage, they will face off against Holly Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
