Baseball Game Preview: Spaulding Red Raiders vs. Winnacunnet Warriors

The Spaulding Red Raiders will head out to face off against the Winnacunnet Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Spaulding came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-2 to Goffstown.

Spaulding saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Cormier, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Greyson Holmes also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Winnacunnet). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Merrimack on Monday, sneaking past 4-2. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Tomahawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Winnacunnet's win bumped their record up to 2-3-1. As for Spaulding, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4-1 record this season.

Spaulding took their victory against Winnacunnet when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
