It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Welsh had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They blew past the Franklin Hornets 11-1. Winning may never get old, but the Greyhounds sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Dane Iguess made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Welsh let Brecken Haydel and Wyatt Kershaw run wild. Haydel went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Kershaw went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Kershaw has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Gillett, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Welsh pushed their record up to 21-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Welsh nor Franklin have any future games scheduled.
