Softball Recap: Johnson Takes a Loss

Johnson suffered their biggest defeat since March 7th on Friday. They lost 17-8 to the Clemens Buffaloes. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Buffaloes earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

Aubrey Tijerina was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Mia Ruiz also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

The loss snapped Johnson's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-4-1 record. As for Clemens, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Johnson is set to challenge their familiar foe Judson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Clemens will face off against rival East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
