Basketball Recap: MALIK Mckenzie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Envision Academy over Piedmont

Envision Academy played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Piedmont Highlanders, falling 74-48. The loss continues a trend for Envision Academy in their meetings with Piedmont: they've now lost four in a row.

Envision Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MALIK MCKenzie, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 21 boards. With that strong performance, MCKenzie is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Syrius Bell was another key player, putting up 15 points and four steals.

Envision Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Piedmont, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Envision Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Encinal at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Envision Academy will need to watch out since the Jets have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Piedmont, they will face off against Arroyo at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
