Baseball Recap: Luray Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Luray had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Stonewall Jackson Generals by a score of 9-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-0 on April 7th.

The team relied heavily on Connor Hilliard, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Luray is undefeated when Hilliard posts three or more RBI, but 3-6 otherwise. Cole Hilliard was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory got Luray back to even at 6-6. As for Stonewall Jackson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Looking ahead, Luray will venture away from home to take on Broadway at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Gobblers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
