Osbourn came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Independence, but Nick Nassib wouldn't allow it. Independence enjoyed a cozy 32-15 victory over Osbourn on Friday for which the team can thank Nassib, who threw for 198 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 121 yards on only eight carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 65 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Independence's defense and their five sacks. Nicholas Kellen was especially locked on to Osbourn's QB and sacked him twice. Kellen also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. Independence got some further help from Marcus Crivelli: he picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
