Softball Recap: Plainfield East Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Plainfield East was forced to take a big loss against they on Saturday, they got the better of them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Neuqua Valley Wildcats by a score of 10-6. This was a revenge game for the Bengals: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Saturday, they had to take a 12-3 defeat.

Corinne Garmon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kaleigh Cawthon was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Plainfield East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Neuqua Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9.

Looking ahead, Plainfield East will host Bolingbrook at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bengals are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Neuqua Valley, they will head out to challenge Metea Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
