Softball Recap: Lake Center Christian Beats Laurel for Their Third Straight Victory

Lake Center Christian waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Laurel Gators 18-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-6 on Saturday.

Shelby McCartney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Lilly Kane was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Maria Yatras was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lake Center Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Lake Center Christian back to even at 7-7. As for Laurel, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
