Basketball Recap: Harper Baker-Lands' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Plainfield over Lawrence North

Plainfield's game on Tuesday was all tied up 36-36 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 70-61 to the Lawrence North Wildcats. If the Quakers were looking for revenge after losing 43-39 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Quakers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Harper Baker-Lands, who went 7 of 17 en route to 20 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton East, who went 8 for 10 on his way to 16 points.

Lawrence North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Azavier Robinson led the charge by going 10 of 17 en route to 26 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Kai McGrew, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.

Plainfield's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Lawrence North, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plainfield will face off against Mooresville at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Mooresville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season. As for Lawrence North, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lawrence North Wildcats challenge the North Central Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
