Baseball Game Preview: Marion Center Stingers vs. Portage Mustangs

The Marion Center Stingers will head out on the road to challenge the Portage Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Marion Center lost 13-4 to Northern Cambria on Wednesday. The Stingers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marion Center saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah McCoy, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Portage came up short against West Shamokin on Wednesday, falling 11-4.

Easton Slanoc was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Portage's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Marion Center, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Marion Center skirted past Portage 5-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marion Center since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
