Softball Recap: Maywood CES Comes Up Short

Maywood CES and Diego Rivera squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Maywood CES had to settle for second. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 18-11. The Wolfpack's loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Emma Flores led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Dahlia Perez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Maywood CES' defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Diego Rivera, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Maywood CES does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Diego Rivera, they will challenge Jefferson at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Democrats have averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season.
