Softball Recap: Capital Golden Eagles vs. Boise Brave

Capital faced Boise in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brave. That's two games in a row now that the Golden Eagles have lost by exactly three runs.

Kiya Caltabiano put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lizzy Turpen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run. McKenna Chavez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Capital and nudges their season record down to 11-7. As for Boise, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.
