Baseball Recap: Lincoln High Comes Up Short

Lincoln High extended their losing streak to ten on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-14 in the process. They lost 13-3 to the Lincoln Northeast Rockets. That's two games in a row now that the Links have lost by exactly ten runs.

Lincoln High saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Semrad, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Lincoln Northeast, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-6. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 29th (when they won 23-13).

On Lincoln Northeast's side, they got a massive performance out of Jaxon Volkmer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Volkmer has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Barrett Batt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln High will challenge rival Bryan at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lincoln Northeast is set to take on their familiar foe Norfolk at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
