Softball Recap: Clayton Valley Charter's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Clayton Valley Charter extended their winning streak to six on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 11-5-1 in the process. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Acalanes Dons. The Ugly Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Camdyn Alton spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Victoria Collins was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Izabella Holt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Clayton Valley Charter hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matchups.

As for Acalanes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On Acalanes' side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Santana Tamayo, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Clayton Valley Charter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 win against Benicia on the 1st. As for Acalanes, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-3 defeat against College Park on the 1st.
