 Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They took  a  9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saline Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Monroe of the  8-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  on Tuesday.
  Alana Aulph and  Maci Willey stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Aulph  scored a  run while going 3-for-4, while  Willey  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.  Aly Lewis was another key contributor,  going 2-for-4 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Saline, their win was  their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-0-1.
 Monroe didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  5-4  loss vs. Tecumseh on the 10th. As for Saline, they will head out on the road to  take on  Skyline at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Saline's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8  runs per game  this season, so Skyline's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
