The Loretto Mustangs had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past Clements 56-53.

Leading Loretto to victory were Sophia Weathers and Ally Weathers. Weathers scored 16 points, while Weathers scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Libby Sanders, who scored 7 points.

Loretto's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Clements, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.

Loretto will square off against Good Hope at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Good Hope knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Loretto likes a good challenge. As for Clements, they will head out on the road to face off against Mortimer Jordan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mortimer Jordan will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
