California is 0-10 against West Greene since April of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The California Trojans will look to defend their home field against the West Greene Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.

California took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Avella 13-6.

Olivia Lenkey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up six earned runs off nine hits. Lenkey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Kayla Saeli was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddy Morton, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 4-for-4.

Meanwhile, West Greene got themselves on the board against Fort Cherry on Wednesday, but Fort Cherry never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 16-0 win. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Payton Gilbert made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, West Greene got a massive performance out of Kendra Tharp, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Marissa Tharp was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

California now has a winning record of 2-1. As for West Greene, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
