Softball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Addie Titlow and Katie Wetteland Lead Rocklin to Victory

Rocklin never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Granite Bay on Wednesday. They never let the Grizzlies get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Thunder have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Payton Prior's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rocklin let Katie Wetteland and Addie Titlow run wild. Wetteland got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Titlow went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Titlow a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cat Alston, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rocklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Granite Bay only managed four hits.

Rocklin's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Granite Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10-1.

Rocklin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-3 win against St. Francis on the 3rd. As for Granite Bay, they have also already played their next game, a 7-1 loss against Whitney on the 2nd.
