Basketball Recap: Marion's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Marion entered their game against Dillon on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Marion Swamp Foxes fell 55-48 to the Dillon Wildcats. The Swamp Foxes were probably out for revenge after losing 44-34 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dillon found their leader in freshman Treasure Davis, who dropped a double-double on 41 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jiana Mcgill, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Marion's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3. As for Dillon, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

When Marion and Dillon next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Marion will try to stop Mullins' four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Dillon will try to stop Fairmont's five-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
