Basketball Recap: Eastern Comets vs. Taylor Titans
After flying high against Cowan last Saturday, Eastern came back down to earth. The Eastern Comets were dealt a 64-37 loss at the hands of the Taylor Titans on Friday. The Comets have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Taylor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Javionne Harris led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds. Harris' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Drey Mcclatchey, who went 10 of 20 en route to 23 points.
Eastern now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Taylor, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
Eastern will welcome Northwestern at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th. As for Taylor, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 42-27 victory against Pioneer on the 30th.
