Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Chester County

Chester County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Lexington Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Lane Estes made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other batting news, Chester County got a big performance out of Dean Estes, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That stolen base was Estes' first of the season. Ethan Burks was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Chester County's record is now 9-5. As for Lexington, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Jackson Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Chester County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lexington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Gibson at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
