Softball Recap: Gregori Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Gregori had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Downey Knights a 15-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-0 back in March.

Allyson Conway made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Audrey Pacheco was a standout: she scored three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia McNelis, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Gregori hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups.

Gregori pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Downey, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
