Basketball Recap: Priest River Comes Up Short

Priest River lost against Grangeville last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Priest River Spartans were outmatched by the Grangeville Bulldogs and fell 69-33. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 34th).

Leading Grangeville to victory were Siena Wagner and Caryss Barger. Wagner went 8 for 9 en route to 18 points and five steals, while Barger went 5 of 8 to rack up 15 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Wagner a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madalyn Green, who posted six points along with seven boards and three blocks.

Priest River's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Grangeville, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6.

As of now, neither Priest River nor Grangeville have any future games scheduled.
