Soccer Game Preview: Steele vs. North Ridgeville

The Steele Comets will venture away from home to square off against the North Ridgeville Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Ridgeville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Steele, who comes in off a win.

Steele is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Holy Name get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what Steele needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Meanwhile, North Ridgeville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 5-0 to University School. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but North Ridgeville couldn't quite close it out.

Steele pushed their record up to 8-3-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three contests. As for North Ridgeville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2.

Steele suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to North Ridgeville in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
