Basketball Recap: Poquoson Takes a Loss

Poquoson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Smithfield Packers an easy 58-36 victory. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Islanders of the 47-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Poquoson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Smithfield, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Poquoson will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Grafton at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Smithfield and Kecoughtan will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th.
