Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Elk Grove Thundering Herd

For the second straight game, Franklin will face off against Elk Grove. The Wildcats will face off against the Thundering Herd at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Franklin has won 11 straight at home dating back to last season, while Elk Grove won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.

On Monday, Franklin beat Elk Grove 6-1.

Dylan Wood tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Franklin's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Edgar Garcia, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Brandon Williams was another, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Elk Grove, they moved to 9-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
